Portland stone tabernacle surmounting shaft on square plinth, on three tiered base. Has Calvary, St George, St Catherine and Peace in tabernacle. Kerb stones marking its site are four halves of the millstones from Houghton windmill which closed 1894 and was on Ingarsby Lane, being moved in 1952 and the memorial is sited where the old village stocks were previously placed. Long stone vase sits on a step with three sets of holes for flowers and was donated by G Collin and Son in 1996. Unveiled by Mrs Oliver, wife of Lieut Colonel CF Oliver TD DL on 15 February 1921; dedicated by Ven the Archdeacon Macnutt of Leicester.
