He was the son of Charles Arthur Bailey an Engine Cleaner, born 1874 in Leicester and his wife Clara, born 1875 in Hinckley, Leicestershire. Arthur Oliver was an Apprentice Clicker and was born in 1896 in Hinckley, Leicestershire, his siblings were John William, born 1898 in Hinckley, Leicestershire, Florence Mabel, born 1899 in Hinckley, Leicestershire, Clara, born 1904, Lily, born 1905 and Elizabeth Ann, born 1908, the latter three siblings were all born in Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire. In April 1911 the family home was at Back Street, Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire. Dates of death are given as between the 27th and the 30th May 1918.
