He was the son of Frederick Wollaston DL., JP., of Leicestershire, and Mrs Wollaston of Shenton Hall, Nuneaton, Warwks. At the time of his death he was commanding the 1st/5th Battalion of the Suffolk Regiment, being detached from the 4th Battalion Rifle Brigade.
