Large granite obelisk weighing 23 tons, with Swithland slate plaques set into front faces of two tiered plinth. Inscription in gold. Whole on two stepped base. Unveiled Sunday 24th July 1921 by Lieutenant Colonel RE Martin CNG; dedicated by Vicar, Rev LH Pearson. Mountsorrel Granite Company supplied stone at cost price; total cost 350 pounds.
