Roll of Honour produced to list those serving or killed in action who were employees of Messenger and Co Ltd of Loughborough. The National Archives website, referring to the company in relation to some of its deposits (held at the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland), says : [quote] The firm was famous, particularly in the Victorian and Edwardian period, for making greenhouses, verandahs, summer houses, cucumber frames, melon pits, mushroom beds, orchid stages, vineries and peach-houses.
