Large Portland stone two-tiered squared column surmounted by statue of Peace holding dove and palm branch. Upper stage of column has St George slaying dragon, widow with child laying wreath and St Michael slaying Satan. Lower stage holds inscriptions. Whole on block of Mountsorrel granite. Unveiled Monday 11 October 1920 by Lieut Colonel CH Jones CMG TD; dedicated by Canon Hurrell (Vicar of Hinckley and Rural Dean); cost nearly 800 pounds.
