Son of Arthur and Elizabeth Folwell, of Leicester.

Alan was serving as a Navigator with No 2 Ground Support Unit.

He was killed while serving at RAF Fersfield, Norfolk when De Havilland Mosquito FBVl HR178 flew into a building at Oaklands Farm, New York near Coningsby, Lincolnshire during a low-level training flight in bad weather.


At the time of his death he was 25 years old and he is buried in Welford Road Cemetery in Section O Grave 29.
