Harold Anstee was the son of Mary Ann Anstee of 79 Rowan Street, Leicester. He died after discharge at the Sanitorium Isolation Hospital, Leicester, whilst suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis.

Recent research has shown that Able Seaman Anstee is buried at Gilroes in Leicester. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.
