He was the son of Joseph Henry Boyall a railway goods guard, born 1864 in Seaton, Rutland, and his wife Eleanor, born 1864 in Stamford, Lincs. George William was born in 1889 in Stamford, Lincs., his siblings were Jane Ann, born 1886, Joseph Henry, born 1886 and John Thomas, born 1888, all his siblings were born in Stamford, Lincs., in April 1891 the family home was at 45, East Street, Stamford, Lincs. In March 1901 George was residing at the Workhouses, Ketton, Rutland, together with his siblings, Maria, born 1873 in Ketton, Rutland, Joseph and John. In April 1911 George was employed as a farm labourer and was lodging at Cottesmore, Rutland.
