Source: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland.
He was the husband of Mrs Ellen Vincent. Harold had been a chauffer before enlistment, he was killed in a motor accident at Devonport, in a letter to his widow Lieutenant Blake of the Land and Water Transport, Devonport wrote:- “it was one of those extraordinary accidents in which in most cases only slight injuries would have been sustained.” He was spoken of as a good soldier, a reliable driver, and one who never gave his officers any trouble, but always accepted any duties cheerfully and with a good heart. Prior to the war he had resided at Langham, Rutland.
