Source: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland.
He was the son of Harry and Eliza Dolby of Bulwick, Peterborough, Northants., and the husband of Ann Emma Dolby. He served for four years in the 5th Bn. Leicestershire Territorials previous to the war, and joined the 7th Battalion Leicestershire Regt. on the 10th November 1914. Within a few weeks he was taken ill with pneumonia and died at Cambridge Military Hospital, Aldershot, Hampshire on December 28th 1914. He leaves a widow and two children. Other sources show his date of death as 27/12/14.
