He was the son of John Bray a stone quarryman, born 1850 in Sapcote, Leics., and his wife Elizabeth, born 1862 in Sapcote, Leics. Thomas was born in 1894 in Sapcote, Leics., his siblings were, Sarah Ann, born 1883, Rebecca, born 1884, Emily, born 1891, Elizabeth Jane, born 1894 and John, born 1898, all his siblings were born in Sapcote, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at Bath Street, Sapcote, Leics. In April 1911 Thomas was employed as a quarryman and was residing in the family home at Bath Street, Sapcote, Leics., together with his parents and siblings, Sarah, Rebecca, Elizabeth, John and William James, born 1904 in Sapcote, Leics.
