He was the son of Benjamin Reynolds, and the husband of Annie Maria Reynolds (nee Chapman). The 7th April 1917 edition of the Leicester Mercury published the following under the heading, “IN MEMORIAM.” REYNOLDS – In loving memory of Pte. Percy Reynolds, 2nd Leicester Regiment who died of wounds in Mesopotamia on April 8th, 1916, aged 28 years. Not dead to us, we loved him dear. Not lost, but gone before; He lives with us in memory still. And will for ever more. – From his loving Wife, Mother, Father and Brother. The War Diary for today records. Trenches improved, now about 600 yards from the enemy. It would have to be assumed that James died from wounds sustained during the attack on the 6th April.
