He was the son of Mrs Annie Patchett. The 1911 census records for Kennel Terrace, Brixworth, Northants. Annie Patchett, head of the family and a Men's Room Cook, born 1872 in East Grinstead, Sussex, also Ethelwin M., daughter, single and a Ladies Tailoring Apprentice, born 1896 in Westgate on Sea, Kent, Alfred John, son, single and a Farm House Boy, born 1898 at Tyberton, Herfordshire and Hector G. R., son, single and a Schoolboy and Carriers Boy, born 1900 in Brixworth, Northants. The War Diary for today records. POLYGON WOOD. 3.45pm. The Battalion moved up to the support line west of POLYGON WOOD J.10.c. relieving the 6th LEICESTERSHIRE REGT. in consolidated shell holes. There was intermittent shelling during the day and night. 2nd Lt. DOWLING was gassed, Captain EMMERSON, 2nd Lt MANGAN and 2nd Lt RAISTRICK were wounded.
