He was the son of the late Albert Durrad, and now the son of Francis Anne Thompson, and stepfather Edward Charles Thompson. The 1911 census records, Edward C. Thompson, married 7 years and head of the family, a Fishmongers Carter, born 1870 in Bedford, and his wife Frances Anne, born 1864 in Leicester. The children were Francis Albert, stepson and a Rubber Company Clerk, born 1889 in Oadby, Leics., Phyliss Alien, stepdaughter and a Corset Factory Ironer, born 1894 in Armagh, Ireland, Robert Henry, stepson and a Boot and Shoe Shop Errand Boy, born 1896 in Oadby, Leics. and Margaret Emily, a Schoolgirl, born 1903 in Leicester. The family were residing at 33, Clarence Street, Market Harborough, Leics.
