He was the son of widow Harriet Sophia Claxton an office cleaner, born 1858 in Borough, Surrey. Frank was born in 1894 in Marylebone, Middx., his siblings were, John Thomas, born 1886 and George, born 1887, the latter two siblings were both born in Greenwich, Kent, Charles, born 1889 in Lambeth, Surrey, Walter Puges Claxton, born 1892 in Marylebone, Middx., and Annie Elizabeth, born 1898 in Westminster, Middx., also residing with the family was a daughter, Edith Gibbons, born 1882 in Lambeth, Surrey, in March 1901 the family home was at 7, Lewisham Street, St. George, Hanover Square, London. In April 1911 Frank was employed as a bar boy clerk and was residing as a servant at 4, Grafton Street, St. George, Hanover Square, London.
