He was the son of John Compton Burditt a factory mechanical engineer, born 1861 in Lubenham, Leics., and his wife Emma, born 1865 in Wilbarston, Northants. Frank Harding Burditt was born in 1895 in Market Harborough, Leics., his siblings were, Horace C., born 1884, Annie Elizabeth, born 1886 and Hilda Jenny, born 1888, the latter three siblings were all born in Lubenham, Leics., Leslie Ingram Burditt, born 1897 in Market Harborough, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at 74, Nelson Street, Great Bowden, Leics. In April 1911 Frank was employed as an errand boy and was residing in the family home at 74, Nelson Street, Great Bowden, Leics., together with his parents and siblings, Annie, Hilda, Leslie, Ralph Edward, born 1904 and Stanley William, born 1906, the latter two siblings were both born in Market Harborough, Leics. The War Diary for today records. A heavy minnenwerfer bomb fell on A Company trenches, 4 men being killed and one wounded. 10395 Cpl. F. BURDITT, 15563 Pte. H. SPRINGTHORPE, 11133 Pte. A. PHILLIPS, 15575 Pte. H. HICKENBOTTOM killed. 18636 Pte C. COLES wounded, all A Company.
