Source: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland.
He was the son of Mrs William Starsmore of Tickencote, Rutland. He was a baker and confectioner by trade. After enlistment and training he proceeded to Egypt on the 9th October of 1915, and was killed in action in the Eastern theatre of war. Other sources show his place of residence as Bigglewade, Beds.
