He was the son of John Henry Bunn a shoe finisher, born 1854 in Bethnal Green, Middx., and his wife Sarah A., born 1853 in Bethnal Green, Middx. Albert Ernest was born in 1890 in Evington, Leicester, his siblings were, Sarah A. G., born 1875, William J., born 1876 and Mary A., born 1877, the latter three siblings were all born in London, John H. P., born 1881, Rosanna, born 1883, Edward Charles, born 1885, George H., born 1886 and Bertha F., born 1889, the latter five siblings were all born in Leicester, in April 1891 the family home was at 68, Prospect Hill, Evington, Leicester. In March 1901 Albert was residing in the family home at 105, Doncaster Road, Leicester, together with his parents and siblings, John, Edward, George, Birnum, born 1889 and Charles, born 1893, the latter two siblings were both born in Leicester. In April 1911 Albert was employed as a house painter and was residing in the family home at 59, Lancashire Street, Leicester, together with his widowed father and siblings, George and Charles. In the April, May, June quarter of 1914, Albert married Ellen May Bird in the Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire marriage registration district. In the October, November, December quarter of 1919 Albert’s widow Ellen married Charles Bull in the Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire registration district, they resided at 10, Leicester Road, Syston, Leics. His brother’s Edward Charles and George Huby both fell in action.
