He was the son of William Booth an ironstone quarryman, born 1866 in Stathern Leics., and his wife Betsy Ellen, born 1869 in Harby, Leics. William was born in 1894 in Stathern, Leics., his siblings were, James, born 1892, Douglas, born 1893, Frederick L., born 1896, Stephen H., born 1898 and Doris A., born 1899, all his siblings were born in Stathern, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at Stathern, Leics. In April 1911 William was employed as a farm labourer and was residing as a boarder at Langar, Barnstone, Notts. In the July, August, September quarter of 1917 William married Lilian Agnes Lazzerini in the Nottingham registration district. In the April, May, June quarter of 1921 his widow Lilian married Philip Painter in the Melton Mowbray, Leics., registration district.
