Source: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the husband of Minnie Warren. Other sources show his place of residence as Brixton, Surrey. The War Diary entry for the events from the 11th to the 12th November 1917 records. TRENCHES. On the night of the 11th/12th November the Battalion was relieved by the 8th LEICESTERSHIRE REGT and moved back to Brigade Support in RAILWAY DUGOUTS, ZILLEBEKE. “C” Company remaining at POLYGON BUTTE, at the disposal of the Officer Commanding 8th LEICESTERSHIRE REGT.
