He was the son of Albert Billings a Butcher, born 1862 in Basford, Notts., and his wife Frances Elizabeth, born 1864 in Underwood, Notts. Albert was born in 1888 in Nottingham, he had one sibling, a sister Florence, born 1887 in Nottingham., in April 1891 the family home was at 29, Castle Road, St. Nicholas, Nottingham. In March 1901 Albert was employed as an Errand Boy and was residing in the family home at 69, Countesthorpe Road, Wigston Magna, Leics., together with his step father James Mason a Glove Worker, born 1861 in Wigston Magna, Leics., and his remarried mother Frances, and his sister Florence. In April 1911 Albert was employed as a Butchers Assistant and was residing in the family home at 69, Countesthorpe Road, Wigston Magna, Leics., together with his step father and mother.
