He was the son of Harry Perkins, a solicitor and town clerk, born 1861 in Loughborough, Leics., and his wife Phoebe Perkins (nee Turner, married in the 3rd quarter of 1886 in the Basford, Notts. district), born 1863 in Willoughby on the Wolds, Notts. Albert was born in the 2nd quarter of 1890 in Loughborough, Leics., his siblings were, Ellen May, born 1888, Harry Edgar, born 1889 and Norman George, born on the 28th June 1899 all his siblings were born in Loughborough, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at 1, Cumberland Road, Loughborough, Leics. In April 1911 Albert was employed as an architect’s assistant and was residing in the family home at 1, Cumberland Road, Loughborough, Leics., together with his father, a solicitor and town clerk, his mother and siblings, Ellen, Harry, an ironmonger’s shop assistant and Norman, a schoolboy. In the 4th quarter of 1916, Albert married Marjorie Mary Andrews in the Nottingham district. His younger brother Norman also died.
