He was the son of Benjamin James Booth a grocer, born 1855 in St. James, Lincs., and his wife Clare Emma, born 1859 in Great Grimsby, Lincs. Hector Robinson Booth was born in 1897 in Loughborough, Leics., his siblings were Kate, born 1881 in Grimsby, Lincs., Leonard De Pear Booth, born 1883, Jessie Marris Booth, born 1885, Christabel, born 1887, Hilda, born 1889, Arthur William, born 1891, Dorothy Lilian, born 1894 and Raymond George, born 1899, the latter seven siblings were all born in Loughborough, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at 43, Cumberland Road, Loughborough, Leics. In April 1911 Hector was a scholar and was residing in the family home at 132, Station Street, Loughborough, Leics., together with his father and siblings, Lucilla Ethel, born 1880 in Grimsby, Lincs., Kate, Christabel, Hilda, Arthur and Raymond.
