He was the son of Herbert Barradell a Tailor, born 1851 in Sileby, Leicestershire and his wife Mary, born 1856 in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire. George Henry was a Litho Stone Polisher and was born in 1883 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, his siblings were Lilian E., born 1874, Mabel, born 1888, Leonard, born 1890, Arthur, born 1896 and Ernest, born 1893, all his siblings were born in Loughborough, Leicestershire. In March 1901 the family home was at 56, Ashby Road, Loughborough, Leicestershire, this being situated within the Ecclesiastical Parish of All Saints. In April 1911 George was a Town Postman and had been married for three years to Edith, born 1884 in Cropwell Bishop, Nottinghamshire. The family home was at 239, Western Road, Leicester.
