He was the son of Henry Bacon a Bricklayers Labourer, born 1859 in Leicester and his wife Mary Elizabeth, born 1872 in Birmingham, Warwickshire. Albert Edward was born in 1896 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, his siblings were Henry Edward, born 1886 in Leicester, John Thomas, born 1888 in Leicester, Walter, born 1897 in Loughborough, Leicestershire and Elizabeth Mary, born 1900 in Loughborough, Leicestershire. In March 1901 the family home was at 25, Factory Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire, this being situated within the Ecclesiastical Parish of Holy Trinity. In April 1911 Albert was employed as a Servant and General Farm Labourer and was residing at Piper House Farm, Long Whatton, Leicestershire.
