He was the son of George Angrave a Hosiery Needlemaker, born 1867 in Loughborough, Leicestershire and his wife Catherine, born 1864 in Shepshed, Leicestershire. George Randall was born in 1898 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, his siblings were Thomas Edward, born 1897 and Catherine Mary, born 1900, both siblings were born in Loughborough, Leicestershire, in March 1901 the family home was at 38, Paget Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire. In April 1911 George had two further siblings, Annie, born 1902 and Elizabeth, born 1904, both siblings were born in Loughborough, Leicestershire, he was residing with his widowed mother at the family home at 40, Paget Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire. His brother Thomas Edward also fell.
