In 1901 the family home was at 76, Cobden Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire, present were his father William an Engine Fitters Labourer, born in 1852 in Loughborough, Leicestershire and his mother Mary, born in 1855 in Loughborough, Leicestershire. Fred was a Cotton Carriers Labourer and was born in 1892 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, at home there were one brother and one sister, William a Circular Frame Hosiery Hand, born 1894 and Emma, born 1889, both siblings were born in Loughborough, Leicestershire.
