He was the son of George and Lucy Naylor of Preston, Rutland, and the husband of Mary Alice Naylor. He left two children. He was engaged in factory work before enlistment, embarking for France on the 16th August 1917. He had just returned to the front from leave on the 2nd November 1917, when on the 19th he was wounded and admitted to No.2 Australian Hospital where he died from his wounds two days later. Other sources show his place of residence as Barrow upon Soar, Leics.
