He was the son of William Annis an Agent, born 1848 in Teigh, Rutland and his wife Mary Ann, born 1855 in Whitechapel, London. Percy John was a Farmer and was born in 1888 in Edmonton, Middlesex, his siblings were Helen Rose, born 1882 in Islington, London, George, born in 1890 in Edmonton, Middlesex, Ethel, born 1889 in Edmonton, Middlesex and Alma, born 1888 in Westminster, London, in April 1911 the family home was at 2, Linthorpe Road, Stamford Hill, London. At the outbreak of war he was farming in Canada. On his return to England he enlisted in the Leicestershire Yeomanry, after several months he transferred to the 8th Machine Gun Corps. embarking for France in May 1916. He was killed by a bullet through the head at Frieres Wood, France. His brother George also died.
