Charles Thomas was born in 1883 in Oakham, Rutland, his siblings were John Henry, born 1878, James E., born 1879, Walter, born 1880, Mary J., born 1883 and Henrietta, born 1887, all his siblings were born in Oakham, Rutland, in April 1891 the family home was at Simper Street, Oakham, Rutland. In March 1901 Charles was employed as a tailor’s apprentice and was residing in the family home at Bede House Row, Oakham, Rutland together with his father and stepmother Mary A. Bolton, born 1856 in Oakham, Rutland and his siblings, John, Walter, Mary and Henrietta. In April 1911 Charles was employed as a tailor maker and was residing in the family home at Bede House Row, Oakham, Rutland together with his father and stepmother, and siblings John and Henrietta.
