He was the son of Henry S. and Florence M. E. Partridge of Regent Street, Oadby, Leics. His enlistment documents record that he gave his father, Henry Partridge of Regent Street, Oadby Leicestershire, England as his next of kin. He gave his trade or calling as Labourer and stated that he was unmarried. Information taken from his medical examination shows that he was 5 foot 8 ½ inches in height and had a chest measurement of 33 to 36 inches. His complexion was not described, his eyes were shown as brown with light brown hair. It was noted that he had a mole on his right cheek and a mole below the left shoulder blade. He gave his religion as Church of England.
