Mountsorrel Man Killed

Private James Arthur Dodge, of the Leicestershire Regiment, son of Mr and Mrs C. Dodge, 49, The Green, Mountsorrel, has been officially reported killed.

He was called to the forces when he reached his 20th birthday, and is the first soldier from the village to be reported killed. He attended Quorn Grammar School as a boy, and afterwards worked at Clark's box factory, Mountsorrel. He played football for Sileby Old Boys and for a Rothley club, and was an enthusiastic cricketer.
