He was the son of Charles Arnold, a labourer, born 1844 in St. Marylebone, Middx., and his wife Eliza Jane Arnold (nee Elliott, married in the 2nd quarter of 1870 in the Portsea Island, Hampshire district), born 1846 in Dittisham, Devon. Frank was a schoolboy and was born in the 3rd quarter of 1877 in Market Harborough, Leics., his siblings were, Frederick Charles, a schoolboy, born 1872 in Fratton, Hants., and Edwin Richard, born in the 4th quarter of 1880 in Market Harborough, Leics., in April 1881 the family home was at High Street, Market Harborough, Leics. In April 1891 Frank, was employed as an errand boy and was residing in the family home at Highfield Street, Great Bowden, Leics., together with his father, a factory labourer, his mother and siblings, Frederick, a warehouseman, Edwin, a schoolboy, Rodney, a schoolboy, born 1883, Ernest William, a schoolboy, born 1885 and George Elliott, a schoolboy, born 1888, the latter three siblings were all born in Market Harborough, Leics. In March 1901 Frank was employed as a bread salesman and was residing in the family home at 176, Bridge Road, Battersea, Wandsworth, Middx., together with his wife, Jessie Arnold (nee Rogers, married in the 4th quarter of 1898 in the Chelsea, Middx. district), born 1877 in Shenley, Herts., and their daughter, Gladys Jessie, born 1900 in Battersea, Middx., also residing with the family was Frank’s brother in law, Fred Rogers, a bread salesman, born 1876 in Shenley, Herts. In April 1911 Frank was employed as an assistant with the Prudential Insurance Company, and was residing in the family home at Copthorne Road, Leatherhead, Surrey, together with his wife and children, Gladys, a schoolgirl and Agnes Muriel, born 1911 in Leatherhead, Surrey. His younger brother Edwin Richard also fell in action.
