Extract from the Market Harborough Advertiser, 7th July 1944:

'Hatborough Soldier Dies of Wounds'

'Rifleman E. W. Gulliver, whose wife lives at 32, The Intake, Markfield, has died of wounds while serving in Italy. He was called up with the Territorial Army before the outbreak of war, and went to the Middle East two days after his marriage two and a half years ago. Before that he served in the Norwegian campaign. His mother lives at Market Harborough, where he worked before the war'.

The CWGC website records that he was part of the 7th (1st Bn. The London Rifle Brigade) Bn Rifle Brigade. He was the son of Elsie Nora Gulliver and the husband of Daisy Alma Gulliver of Markfield, Leicestershire.
