Market Harborough Advertiser 22/09/1944:

'Market Harborough Flying Officer Killed'

News has been received through the International Red Cross that Flying Officer Cyril Thompson, RAFVR, aged 22, only son of Mr and Mrs JJ Timson of Coventry Road Market Harborough, previously reported missing, is now known to have been killed on operations in February and buried a few days later in the British Miltary Cemetery at St Riquier les Plaines, near Abbeville. Prior to joining the RAF in October 1940 and being commissioned in April 1943, he was educated at Market Harborough Grammar School and Leicester Technical College.
