He was the son of Thomas Clarke an agricultural labourer, born 1853 in Market Bosworth, Leics., and his wife Betsy, born 1855 in Halford, Warwks. Frank was born in 1893 in Market Bosworth, Leics., his siblings were, Bertie, born 1883, Mary Elizabeth, born 1887 and Edith Emma, born 1898, all his siblings were born in Market Bosworth, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at Station Road, Market Bosworth, Leics. In April 1911 Frank was employed as a domestic hall boy and was residing as a servant at Scalford Hall, Melton Mowbray, Leics.
