He was the son of Joseph Sharp, a coal carter born 1868 in Lutterworth, Leics., and his wife Mary Maria Sharp (nee Jelley, married in the 1st quarter of 1891 in the Daventry, Northants. district), born 1869 in Kibworth Beauchamp, Leics. Reginald William C. was born in the 3rd quarter of 1892 in Long Buckby, Northants., he had one sibling, a sister Hilda, born 1897 in Lutterworth, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at Dixon’s Court, Lutterworth, Leics. In April 1911 Reginald was employed as an iron moulder and was residing in the family home at Market Street, Lutterworth, Leics., together with his father, a coal carter and his mother, also residing with the family was his maternal cousin, Winifred Jelley, born 1905 in Lutterworth, Leics. Reginald married Gertrude A. Tyler in the 3rd quarter of 1917 in the Lutterworth, Leics. district.
