He was the son of Frederick Cecil Alderson, a Rector, born 1837 in Marylebone, Middx., and his wife Katherine Gwladys Alderson (nee Guest, married on the 9th April 1861 in the Parish of St. George, Hanover Square, Middx.), born 1837 in Dowlais, Glamorganshire, Wales. Reginald Liddon was born in the 2nd quarter of 1880 in Holdenby, Northants., his siblings were, Margaret H., born 1862 in Ampthill, Beds.,Edith Cecilia, born 1868, Henry Spencer, born 1875 and Mary George, born 1876, the latter three siblings were all born in Holdenby, Northants., in April 1881 the family home was at The Vicarage, Holdenby, Brixworth, Nortants. In April 1891 Reginald was a student and was residing in the family home at The Rectory, Holdenby, Brixworth, Northants., together with his father, the Rector, his mother and siblings, Montague F., a student, born 1870 in Holdenby, Northants., Edith and Mary. In March 1901 Reginald was absent from the family home at The Rectory, Coventry Road, Lutterworth, Leics., residing there was his father, a clergyman of the Church of England, his mother and siblings, Edith and Mary, Reginald was an Articled Clerk and was residing at 118, Mount Street, St. George Hanover Square, London. In the 4th quarter of 1907 Reginald’s father, died aged 71 in the Lutterworth, Leics. district. In April 1911 Reginald was absent from the family home at The Rectory, Coventry Road, Lutterworth, Leics., residing there was his widowed mother and his sister Mary, Reginald was a Solicitor and Civil Servant and was residing at 5, Spanish Place, Marylebone, London. Reginald’s father became the Reverend Canon of Peterborough Cathedral. Reginald served with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, notes from his service record show that he was part of the Armoured Car Section as a Temporary Lieutenant, 25/4/15. At Barrow on General Duties, 13/9/15. Attended an Armoured Training Course at White City, 31/1/16 – 14/2/16. At Howden, 10/4/16. Promoted Lieutenant Commander, 31/12/17 – 1/1/18. Promoted Captain (Temporary Major) in the newly formed Royal Air Force, 1/4/18. He had been scheduled to attend for training as a D.H4 Ferry Pilot on the 1/7/18. He died in The Royal Naval Hospital, Hull, Yorks., on the 30/6/18. His service record also shows that he became an Airplane Pilot, flying Armstrong Whitworth, B.E.26 machines and was an Armament Officer. Reginald is commemorated on a small carved wooden family plaque inside St. Mary’s Church, Lutterworth, Leics.
