He was the son of Richard Cameron a rural postman, born 1847 in Lutterworth, Leics., and his wife Emma, born 1850 in South Kensington, Middx. John Cameron was born in 1886 in Lutterworth, Leics., his siblings were, Henry, born 1877, Annie F., born 1878, Frederick W., born 1882, Lucy W., born 1884, Emma Elizabeth, born 1890 and Margaret Kate, born 1891, all his siblings were born in Lutterworth, Leics., in April 1891 the family home was at High Street, Lutterworth, Leics. In March 1901 John was employed as a railway goods clerk and was residing in the family home at Regent Street, Lutterworth, Leics., together with his father, now a domestic gardener, his mother and siblings, Lucy, Elizabeth, Margaret and William Jessie, born 1895 in Lutterworth, Leics.
