Ibstock Naval Man’s Death

The first of Ibstock’s men in H.M. Forces has died on active service. He is Mr Joseph C. Finch, youngest son of Mr A. Finch and the late Mrs Finch, of Melbourne Road, Ibstock. He joined the Royal Navy last October at the age of 21. He died in hospital at Chatham, where the funeral took place with full naval honours on Wednesday, his father, two sisters and a brother being present. His brother Alfred is also in the Navy.
