Mr and Mrs T. Wright, Church End, Ibstock, have received a letter stating that their son, B. T. Wright, of the King’s Royal Rifles, had been killed at the Front. On Thursday last they were informed by telegram that he was dangerously wounded, and the latest information states he died at a clearing hospital. Mr and Mrs Wright have two other sons in the K.R.R. and both have been wounded. They all enlisted at the commencement of the war.

IBSTOCK

Memorial services were held on Sunday last at the Ibstock Parish Church in connection with the death of Private Benjamin Thirlby Wright, second son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Wright, schoolmaster, Ibstock, whose name was included in our reports of those who had fallen, in last week’s issue. The Rev. S. Flood, M.A., conducted the service and referred in sympathetic terms to the sorrow of the bereaved family. The Ibstock Lad’s Church Brigade was in attendance, under Lieut. Wilson, and sounded the “Last Post”. Mr W. Dunstan played the “Dead March” (Saul) and the bells rang a muffled peal. Despite the inclement weather there was a large number present, and the service was very impressive.
