He was the son of Thomas and M. A. Mills. The War Diary for today records that the Battalion were in the Front Line Chateau Segard sector. At 4.00am the enemy opened up a heavy bombardment of Chateau Segard Wood which continued until 6.00am and then gradually died down. Remainder of day passed quietly and eneventfully. Casualties, other ranks A Company 1 wounded. C Company 2 wounded. D. Company 2 killed, 5 wounded. 2nd Lieutenant O. M. Norman wounded.
