He was the husband of Mrs D. Merrick, he left five children. Other sources show his place of residence as 33, Trinity Lane, Hinckley, Leics. The War Diary entry for the 30th March 1918 records. ALLONVILLE. The nucleus of the Battalion moved to ALLONVILLE (AMIENS E1) in the evening of 30th March and went into billets in that village.
