He was the son of Richard and Eliza Lyne of Glenfield, Leics., and the husband of Louisa Annie Lyne. The War Diary for today records. Distribution as for previous days. Enemy appears to have stopped the working parties behind their lines during the day as no movement was observed. 17525 Pte LYNES was killed during the afternoon and 11177 L/Cpl COLLINGS slightly wounded but returned to duty. TILLELOY NORTH was shelled at about 6.00pm the north parapet being breached by a small percussion shell. No casualties.
