AC2 Edward Densham was serving with 14 (Pilot's) Advanced Flying Unit, Flying Training Command at the time of his death.

He was killed whilst flying in Airspeed Oxford l BG208 which flew into the ground 2 miles W of Ossington during a night training flight while flying in poor visibility.

Stationed at RAF Ossington , died at Newark General Hospital from peritonitis due to a ruptured appendix - RAF Commands database (dated May 11th 2017).

Casualties (2) on the Oxford which crashed that day near Ossington, aircraft BG208, were: Flying-Officer John Barnes, RAF (instructor) and Sgt Henry Puder, Royal Canadian Air Force (trainee). No reference in base ORB or their personnel records of a third-party on-board but any extra info would be welcomed.
