The War Diary for the 7th June 1917 records. HAMELINCOURT. Major H. E. C. ANDERSON, 9th LEICESTERSHIRE REGT took over the command of the Battalion from Lt. Col. G. C. I. HERVEY who proceeded to ENGLAND. On the night of the 7th/8th June the Battalion relieved the 13th NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS in the HINDENBURG LINE, the Battalion sector included from junction of PLUM LANE and HUMBER TRENCH, U.7.d.2.3. along HUMBER TRENCH, LUMP LANE to SENSEE RIVER inclusive U.7.h.15.70. Order of Companies in the line from right to left, “A”, “B”, “C” and “D”. Battalion HQ in the CHALK QUARRY at T.18.b.8.1.
