He was the son of Harry Chamberlain a shoe trade clicker, born 1862 in Earl Shilton, Leics., and his wife Mary Jane a shoe trade machinist, born 1865 in Earl Shilton, Leics. Harry was born in 1890 in Earl Shilton, Leics., in April 1891 the family home was at Cake Lane, Earl Shilton, Leics. In March 1901 Harry was residing in the family home at 32, Keats Lane, Earl Shilton, Leics., together with his parents and siblings, Sarah J., born 1893, Albert, born 1895 and Arthur, born 1899, all his siblings were born in Earl Shilton, Leics. In April 1911 Harry was employed as a boot manufacturer’s clerk and was residing in the family home at 43, Keats Lane, Earl Shilton, Leics., together with his father, now a farmer, his mother and siblings, Sarah, Albert, Arthur and William, born 1903 in Earl Shilton, Leics., also residing with the family was his widowed maternal grandmother, Sarah Foster, born 1843 in Earl Shilton, Leics.
