Coalville Times - Roll of Honour:

David Archibald Jones
Private, Notts and Derby Regiment, accidentally killed while in training on Salisbury Plain. Son of Mr and Mrs Jones, of 90, Melbourne Street, Coalville.

Coalville Times article - Friday September 14th, 1917

IN MEMORIAM

In loving memory of Corporal David Archibald Jones, son of George and Sarah Ann Jones, Melbourne Street, Coalville, who met his death on Salisbury Plain, September 6th, 1913.

“I loved him in life; he is dear to me still,
But in grief I must bend to God’s holy will.
Only those who have lost are able to tell,
Of the pain at our hearts in saying farewell.

‘Tis sweet to know we’ll meet him again,
When partings are no more;
And that the ones we loved so dear,
Have only gone before.”
