Coalville Times article - Friday December 8th, 1916

Mrs Holyoak, who with her two children, resides with her mother, Mrs Brierley, in Bakewell Street, Coalville, has been officially notified of the presumed death of her husband, Corporal Emmanuel Holyoak, of the Lancashire Fusiliers. After the battle of Chocolate Hill on the Gallipoli Peninsula, on August 12th, 1915, Corporal Holyoak was posted as missing. It was reported that he was wounded in the Turkish trenches. He was an old boy of the Coalville Belvoir Road Council (formerly Wesleyan) School, and before enlisting was employed as Messrs. Stableford’s engineering works.
